Our mission
BirdHouse’s mission is to close the gap between how easy it has become to build software and how hard it is to get the tools to manage and grow it.
Updated
More people are building software than ever before. What once required years of experience and entire teams of engineers is becoming possible for anyone with an idea. The number of independent developers is growing quickly, and we believe we’re entering a new era where millions of people will have the opportunity to create their own software, games, and businesses.
But there’s a problem. While it is easier than ever to build software, the tools needed to manage and grow it are still out of reach for many new developers. Industry-leading tools are often expensive, complicated, and built for experienced teams with the funding and technical expertise to use them. Most independent developers and small teams simply don’t have those resources.
BirdHouse’s mission is to close that gap.
We’re building powerful tools that feel as simple and approachable as everyday consumer products. We believe that great ideas shouldn’t be held back by a lack of funding, experience, or access to the right technology. Whether you’re developing your first game or growing a business with millions of users, you should have access to the tools you need to succeed.
And our vision doesn’t stop with developers. We want to bring that same simplicity to the way everyone collects, organizes, and understands information. We envision a future where anyone, in any field, can use approachable tools to explore data, find answers, and make informed decisions without needing specialized knowledge or expensive software.
We’re starting by empowering the next generation of software and game developers, with a much bigger goal in mind: making the world’s most powerful technology accessible to everyone.
Where we are today
The mission describes where we’re going. We’re early in that work, and we’re starting with live ops tools for game developers: one product is in early access and the rest are planned.
| Product | Purpose | Availability |
|---|---|---|
| Matchmaking | Group compatible player tickets using your rules. | Early access |
| Analytics | Planned event tracking, retention, and player behavior analysis. | Target: Q4 2026 |
| FFlags & Configs | Planned feature flags and configuration across project environments. | Target: Q1 2027 |
| Experiments | Planned tools to compare variants and measure their impact. | Target: Q1 2027 |
Analytics, FFlags & Configs, and Experiments are planned products. Their dates are targets, and their listed capabilities are not yet available.
Matchmaking is our starting point. Your project defines the parties and matching rules; BirdHouse groups compatible tickets. Server reservation and the player handoff remain in your code. The Roblox SDK and HTTP API document that boundary.
Getting started is not yet as simple as we intend it to be. During early access, SDK package access and a service endpoint are arranged with the team. These Matchmaking docs are written for SDK version 0.4.0; they do not establish that a package is published or a service is hosted.
